Michael Ensminger is a visual artist who lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. In New York, his work has been exhibited at numerous venues, including the Drawing Center, Hudson County Community College, Victory Hall Drawing Rooms, Curious Matter, Margarete Roeder Gallery, Gracie Mansion Gallery, ARENA, Five Myles Gallery, and the Islip Art Museum (Long Island). Elsewhere, his work has been included in shows at the Davis Museum and Cultural Center, Wellesley College (catalogue), the “XI Mostra de Gravura Cidade de Curitiba” biennial in Curitiba, Brazil (catalogue), La Galeria de Altos de Chavon in the Dominican Republic, and the Kukje Gallery in Seoul, Korea. His work has been included in exhibitions with emerging and established artists, including Sol Lewitt, Ellsworth Kelly, Richard Serra, Jasper Johns, Meg Webster, Bernd and Hilla Becher, and Chris Ofili.
Michael has completed residencies at the Altos de Chavon Cultural Foundation in La Romana, Dominican Republic and No Lugar Arte Contemporaneo in Quito, Ecuador. His work is included in the permanent collections of Werner Kramarsky and the Arkansas Art Center. He attended the Art Institute of Chicago and received an M.S. in Education from Brooklyn College.
